Singular and Plural Numbers

NUMBER :


(1)Singular Number : When noun denotes only one thing,that is the singular number of that noun. e.g.book,cow,bird,dog etc.



(2)Plural Number : When noun denotes more than one things,that is the plural number of that noun.


Rules os Changing Number:


(1) Generally,by adding suffix 's' change the singular number into plural number.

(3) If there is a 'y' at the end of the singular noun and before 'y' there is a consonent sound. To change into plural form remove 'y' and add 'ies' at the end of the noun.

(4) If there is a 'y' at the end of the singular noun and before 'y' there is a vowel sound. To change into plural form add 's' at the end at the end of noun.Don't make any changes in the given noun.
